1:1 Tagalog Coaching
If you’re looking for a Tagalog coach, I might just be “the one.”
Hi, I'm Val. I'm a native Tagalog speaker and I teach conversational Tagalog.
Finding the right coach is probably as difficult as finding the right match on Tinder: It’s challenging to find the person who not only satisfies the standards you set, but is also someone you get along with.
On your first session with me, we talk about what you want to achieve and how we should go about it. This will also give us an idea if we fit into each other’s world.
If it’s a match, we ease into tailoring lessons according to your specific needs — your goals, your interests, your learning style, and your lifestyle (including time constraints) — so you’ll never feel like you’re just going through the motions.
My role is to understand and to meet you where you’re at and to clarify what’s confusing.
My goal is to help you get the most out of your Tagalog learning experience and to teach you how to learn on your own, until you no longer need me.
What you get:
- Student-led sessions
- A “Core” questionnaire
- A fun, engaging, and effective 1:1 Tagalog Coaching through Skype
- Google docs for 1:1 live sessions
- Feedback during the lesson
- Feedback form after each session — one to be filled out by you, and one by me
- Various Tagalog material
- Homework and quizzes
- Flashcards
- Tagalog language fundamentals
- Integrated science-based tools that improve learning and memory
If there’s anything holding you back from reaching your full potential in Tagalog, we’ll find it and work together until it goes away.

I believe that the best way to learn is by having fun and being playful. I use science-based tools like mnemonics, visualizations, and storytelling to help you improve your memory and recall skills.
